# How credits work

> What a credit is, what uses them, what is given back.

A credit pays for Minax's work. Each build or change uses a number of credits that depends on the work actually done.

## What uses credits?

* Building a plugin.
* Each answer from Minax in the chat, then each change you ask for.
* Project images and textures.

## What is free?

* Minax's questions before you start the build.
* The test server: it counts in [minutes](https://docs.minax.fun/en/test-in-game/minutes.md), not credits.
* Downloading your .jar files.

## How much does a plugin cost?

At today's rates, we estimate that half of plugins come to between 15.4 and 30.7 credits, edits included, and that one in ten goes over 42 credits (estimate from 25 September 2026, not a guaranteed price).

## Where do I see my credits?

* **Settings**, **Plans & Billing**: your balance, your credits by origin (packs, subscription, free) with their end dates, and your use over the last 30 days.
* In the chat, each message's **Details** panel shows the **Credits used**.

## When do I get credits back?

| Case | What happens |
| - | - |
| The build ends without a .jar file | Credits given back automatically, minus 0.3 credit. |
| Your credits run out on the way | The build pauses and resumes when you buy a pack. After 30 days paused without a .jar, its credits are given back, minus 0.3 credit, once. |
| Minax starts a build you did not ask for, or charges for a change that is then cancelled | Credits given back. |

## How long do my credits last?

| Credits | Length |
| - | - |
| Pack | 36 months after purchase. |
| Subscription you already have | Unused monthly credits roll over to the next month, once, up to your tier's monthly credits. They last 30 days at most. |
| Referral | 30 days. |

Minax always uses the credits that expire soonest first, and emails you 7 days before a pack's credits end.
